The Capital Project and our £10-Up! campaign

Two years ago, despite a bleak public funding outlook, public support for Déda spurred us to look for a way to not just survive, but to thrive.  We knew that we had to devise and implement a way forward that would reduce our need for public funding and bring even more benefit to Derby and the region.

Two years on, our strategy has brought new partnerships, new networks and new building works.

The last – a modest but game-changing project of expansion and renovation – will enable us to increase our income, maintain a healthy artistic/commercial balance and reduce our dependence on public funding.  Work is due to begin in June and the spaces will be ready for use this October.

We anticipate that in 2015/16, the first full year of use, the improvements will bring Déda an additional £91,000 through new initiatives such as the delivery of a Dance Degree with the University of Derby and aerial circus training and activities, including family-friendly Circus Sundays.

The Capital Project cost is £412,000, and we have raised all but £8,000. To find the balance, we have launched our £10-Up! campaign.   Ten pounds – or more – from Déda's friends and supporters can make our goal a reality and increase the best of dance and the arts in Derby and the region.

Please join the £10-Up! campaign online at mydonate.bt.com/charities/deda, or donate by cheque (payable to Déda) or BACs transfer (Sort Code 40-52-40, Account No 00015115).  And if you are a UK taxpayer, you can claim Gift Aid on your donation.
