Summer Pledge Winner Simone Shares Her Story

 

Through Spring and Summer 2016, Déda ran an initiative called The Pledge deda-pledge-2016-red.jpg- encouraging customers to commit to attending classes regularly throughout the entire term. Pledgors received free water bottles and kit bags and were entered into a prize draw to win a term's worth of classes absolutely free.

Summer Pledge winner Simone not only attended classes for the required number of weeks but clocked up 31 classes between Easter and the end of term!

 

We asked her to share her experience of classes at Déda:

 

"Happy is an understatement...

Back in January 2016, I made a pledge to the health company whom I had been working with to be more active. This meant losing and toning the baby weight I had been carrying for years. My passion was dancing before I became a mother and I wanted to start it back up again so I decided to start taking lessons at Déda, but I wanted to try out styles I had only dreamed about.

Then came Déda's new incentive 'The Pledge'. To commit myself even further, I had to sign up to say I would attend 10 out of 12 lessons.

Talk about dedication.

I told myself that I was going to do it but little did I know that I would be addicted.

The first class was Argentine Tango on Mondays with Billy and Mel Homan. Their style excited me and I began taking both Beginners and Intermediate lessons. The people in the class were so friendly and everyone made me feel so welcome!

The one thing I really wanted to gain back (as well as my pre-baby body), was my confidence - as I lost it all after having my children. This feeling led me to taking part in the Burlesque classes held on Wednesdays. The teacher Sol had so much life and energy. Her lessons felt like a proper workout but after she moved to London, we were introduced to Miss Faye (Principle of Studio 84 and all round fantastic lady).

I have learnt about the history and the different types of Burlesque and it has been truly amazing and inspirational.

Her way of teaching will bring out the Jessica Rabbit in any woman!

I cannot describe the feeling I get now I am dancing again but thanks to Déda, the teachers and 'The Pledge', this yummy mummy has definitely got her mojo back!!! "
