Volunteer Vacancies

Derby Dancing

Déda are looking for volunteers passionate about dance, history, research and people to get involved in our Heritage Lottery Funded project, Derby Dancing.

We want to find people’s stories and memories about dance – why it is important, how it has shaped their lives, what styles they have practiced and venues they have frequented. We need volunteers to help discover these stories through research and interviews with the public!

This is an amazing opportunity to meet new people, develop new skills and be a part of a history of Derby that has never been documented before!

See below for more information on the volunteer opportunities available with Derby Dancing.

Independent Research Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to research in the history of dance in the city: venues and people, stories and images. This role is perfect for anyone who loves local history, and offers excellent opportunities to develop research and writing skills. Positions available from June - December 2018.

Interview Volunteers: We have an exciting opportunity for a team of volunteers to work with media company V21 Artspace and Déda's Marketing team to interview members of the public about their experience of dance in the city. This is a fantastic position for anyone who loves meeting new people and is interested in learning more about media and developing interview skills. Positions available from June - August 2018.

Social Media Volunteers: We are seeking volunteers to administer social media content for Derby Dancing. With a range of call outs from stories to volunteers to artists, volunteers in this role will have the opportunity to write copy, design content and learn more about managing social media campaigns and reading analytics. This position is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in developing experience in online communications and design. Positions available from June - December 2018.

Please download and return an application form to if you are interested in volunteering with Derby Dancing.
