DeNada dance theatre will be performing Spanish choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra’s TORO, a new, gender questioning, Hispanic take on the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast.
Déda announces a new Associate Producer to complement the expansion of the Déda performance programme. The addition of dance producer Phil Hargreaves will enable Déda Director Stephen Munn to continue to develop Déda’s family friendly performance events and new programme of circus work.
Déda is hosting a unique production inspired by Japanese stories and performed by Derby-based ‘Hubbub Theatre Company’ – an ensemble of performers with moderate learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, alongside professional and emerging local theatre practitioners.
Déda in Chapel Street will launch an expanded class programme for adults and children following a £412,000 redevelopment programme at the regional dance house. Several new classes will start in September – some of which will be based in the new dance and production studio
Déda will be holding an Open Audition on 9 July for a new Dance Degree, developed in collaboration with the University of Derby.
Déda has secured funding from Arts Council England (ACE) under its National Portfolio Organisation programme for the next three years.
