Bounceback auditions in September

Building on our reputation for excellence in Youth Dance performance, Déda now offers seven different performance companies for young people to choose from.

Each company works alongside a Dance Artist to create dance pieces which are then presented at a variety of local, regional and national events. Weekly sessions cover a range of activities from learning new dance styles, techniques and repertoire to improvisation and choreography.

Déda Youth Performance groups will also have occasional visits from guest artists on Déda: The Artist Scheme and visiting professional dance companies. Opportunities to gain accreditation through the Trinity/Guildhall Arts Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold) are available through these companies.

Bounceback is a new company for those who are particularly interested in following a career in dance. Auditions for company members will be held annually at the start of the autumn term. Membership will be offered to young people who want to further develop their skills in creating and performing dance or who are interested in becoming dance leaders.

To become a member of a Déda Youth Performance company, you must make a commitment to attend on a weekly basis and have a strong interest in working as part of a group.

The companies meet in Déda’s professionally equipped dance studios, with the exception of Pulse and Evolution, which meet at venues in the East and West of Derby City (contact c.limb@deda.uk.com or 01332 374681 for more information).
