Outdoor Arts Seed Funding

As part of the OffSite Artist Development programme, Déda invites Artists and Companies working in dance, circus or physical theatre to apply for support for the research, development and creation of new outdoor works for 2017. With this seed funding, we are looking to support Midlands based artists who are already working in the Outdoors or looking to create performance work for the Outdoors.

The seed funding available is made up of funds from the Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation & our affiliate companies SO Festival, Appetite Stoke, Leicester Council & Derby Festé. We are looking to support between 3 – 5 projects with funding ranging from £500 - £2000 per project.

We are interested in supporting the following types of work:

  1. Small to midscale works that are in the early ideas stage and will be created ready for presentation in 2017
  2. The research and development of new ideas/shows that may not flourish into touring products until a later date
  3. The development time for artists to enhance or reflect on their artistic practice when making work for the outdoors
  4. Work that reflects the diverse landscape and communities of the Midlands

Alongside the commission funds, additional resources are available to the selected artists & companies including:

  1. Rehearsal space
  2. Marketing & Audience Development support
  3. Producer and Artistic support

To apply, please fill out the attached application form and return by 2nd December 2016 to Déda’s Creative Producer Phil Hargreaves on the email address below:

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact Phil directly.

Offsite is the new artist development programme run by Déda to follow on from the published evaluation of On Site (2013).

The programme has been established to develop further opportunities for outdoor artists based in the region.  Over its course, the programme looks to create opportunities that take regional talent to the national and international market place whilst representing Déda as a Midlands hub for Outdoor Arts Development.

Deadline: Friday 2 December 2016
