10am – 1pm Friday 3rd September 2010, Déda

If you would like to audition for Bounceback, please call the Déda Box Office on 01332 370911 to register your interest. Please also make sure you have filled out the Bounceback Questionnaire/Application Form prior to audition and bring it with you.

Registration for the audition is from 09.30am on Friday 3rd September. Come to the Box Office to let the Front of House team know that you have arrived, where you will be given a name badge (which is to be displayed clearly throughout the audition). You will then be instructed to go upstairs to the Déda Gallery to do your own warm-up.

A member of the Bounceback Audition Panel will collect you at 10am. The auditions are due to finish at 1.00pm.

The audition will be made up of the following activities:

• Teacher-led exercises and sequences to get the body and brain ready for action 
•  Learning an extended sequence which involves travelling, jumping and floor work 
• A creative task from a stimulus such as music, text or picture 
• Performing devised material to an audience in small groups 
• Evaluation and peer review

During the audition panel members will be looking out for the following:

• Creative, expressive or technical potential
• Communication skills
• Willingness to cooperate and collaborate 
• Commitment 
• Enthusiasm

The successful candidates will be notified by telephone. This will be followed up by a letter officially inviting you to join Bounceback.
Those who do not go through to the company will receive a letter in the post notifying them of this. We strongly encourage all auditionees to complete a Déda|Academy enrolment form and to join a Déda Youth Performance company (if you are not already a member of the Academy)

There is no charge to take part in the audition. The cost for Bounceback is £21.00 for the first half term and £21.00 for the second half term (Autumn prices only). Payment for Bounceback should be made before beginning attendance to confirm that you wish to take-up the place.
Auditions for Bounceback will be held again in September 2011 and yearly thereafter.
