Our extensive Dance Development and Learning Programme takes place in a variety of community and education settings throughout Derby City and across the East Midlands.With unrivalled expertise, we are regularly comissioned to delivery a huge array of projects from work in schools to professional development for Dance Artists. If you are looking for a bespoke workhop or project, we'd love to hear from you.
Déda offers bespoke workshops and projects for every school setting from Early Years Foundation Stage to FE and HE level. Whether it is an individual workshop to compliment a current theme, topic, examination syllabus or a year of curriculum based classes developed with your staff, Déda has a practitioner who can create and deliver this with you. This includes breakfast, lunch and after school clubs, choreographing dance pieces for festivals and platforms, arts and sports weeks, enrichment days and CPD for teachers working alongside our dance artists. We are especially happy to work with the government’s PE and School Sport agenda around increased physical activity in children aged 5 – 11 years.

Our recent customers include Pear Tree Infant School, Becket Primary School, Lees Brook Secondary School, The Kingsmead School and St.Andrews School, Derby. We are also working with Derby City Schools Sport and Erewash Schools Sport Partnership with whom we are working with to develop and deliver Continuing Professional Development around engaging boys in dance at KS1, 2 & 3.
Whether you are looking to set up a weekly class in a community hall, want a performance for an event or you want to get your delegates up and moving at the beginning of a conference, Déda can help. Déda can run workshops for anyone from the age of 6 months to 100 years (and over!) with dance activities that are appropriate for the age and ability of the participants.
Along with our Dance Development and Learning Team, Déda works with a number of associate dance artists with specialisms in a broad range of styles so we can cater for all interests and abilities. Recent customers have included The Rotary Club and The Girl Guides.
The Dance Development and Learning Team have extensive experience delivering workshops, performances and learning programmes to hard-to-reach and vulnerable young people in our building, in a community setting or in a secure unit.
This includes delivering accredited courses such as the Arts Award to enable young people to gain recognised qualifications. We have previously worked with Clayfields House Secure Unit and Derby City Youth Offending Service.
