Interact with visual material on the BBC Big Screen using VJ tools, webcam games, Wii Motes, touch screen and green screen. The visual material used in the mix will include archive footage, QUAD Youth Forum work and footage created on the day. Just drop by, no need to book. Each session will last around 15 minutes.
Digital Face Painting 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
In QUAD's GHC Mac Suite
Free - suitable for age 12+
Come and be one of the first to visit our GHC Mac Suite on the first floor in QUAD and take part in a fun, guided activity. Learn how to use Photoshop to create a digital cartoon style image of you to keep. Just drop in, no need to book. Places are limited and will work on a first come, first served basis. Each session will last around 45 minutes.
Absurd Inventions 12 noon to 4pm

Free - suitable for all ages
Family fun, using different art techniques to create solutions to those tricky problems you've always wanted to solve. Just drop in, no need to book. All young people under 13 must be accompanied.

Compagnie Beau Geste present Transports Exceptionnels, an extraordinary show based around a tender love duet between a dancer and an industrial digger: not for the fainthearted!
2pm - 6pm
The People’s Stage will celebrate the full diversity of Derby with a programme of performances by local groups and organisations from all over the city.
Groups taking part include East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra, Shakti, 3D Theatre Company, Surtal Asian Arts and Rukus and The Trinity Band. There will also be a programme of interactive films on the Big Screen throughout the day.
Street performers Original Mixture, Black Eagles, Artizani, Cosmic Sausages, Cirque Bijou and Chango Fuego will provide entertainment in the Market Place.
Gravity & Levity present their acclaimed mixture of contemporary dance, aerial circus and physical theatre in a free performance in the Assembly Rooms Great Hall which will take your breath away. The show will be repeated five times throughout the afternoon so just come along, have a seat and wait to be amazed.
Freevolution will be staged in the Darwin Suite, a free showcase for live and local bands. Featuring established and emerging local musicians, the aim is simple: great music - LIVE!
5pm
A special screening of SuperRams, a compilation of classic moments from Derby County’s history, created by Philip Leach, archivist and curator at MACE (Media Archive of Central England), in association with Derby County FC. The screening will be introduced by Simon Groom, including appearances by several ex-Derby players including Roy McFarland and Roger Davies.
