Get involved as Disco Divas take over Derby Festé

Join us as we turn Derby Market place into a disco dance floor!

Déda|Artist Katie Green has been commissioned by Derby Festé to get Derby dancing. As part of the Festé weekend, on Friday 24 September Katie will choreograph a disco performance with nine dance artists, before the rest of the audience take to the dance floor in a huge public disco.

On Saturday 25 September, the disco theme continues as Derby Market Place will again be transformed by a very special one off performance. Passers-by will be taken completely by surprise as a disco-themed Flash Mob takes over the city. Flash Mobs are unannounced performances in public places which see large groups of people doing something unexpected. Déda class participants of all ages and local school and community groups will strut their funky stuff to classic dance floor anthems in this special event.

Anyone who wants to join in with the Flash Mob can get involved. Open classes will take place at Déda on Monday 6, 13 and 20 September and a large group rehearsal will be held at the Darwin Suite, Derby Assembly Rooms on Sunday 19 September. The choreography is also available on YouTube, Facebook (search “Derby Flash Mob”) and Vimeo for you to master your moves at home. If you would like to take part, please ensure you register your interest by contacting katie@madebykatiegreen.co.uk.

The Flash Mob is a surprise event and the final time of the performance will be announced to all participants in the run up to the event, when it will also be announced to the press.
