Min Kym was a child prodigy, studying at the Purcell School of Music then going onto international competitive success and making debut recordings. She worked with many violins and, at 21, found 'the one': a rare 1696 Stradivarius, perfectly suited to her build and temperament. She recorded the Brahms concerto and a world tour was planned. Then, in a London café, her violin was stolen.
Using episodes from her book Gone, Min Kym will combine readings with playing to illustrate the key stages of her journey; one which is told as much in the language of music as it is in words.
