  • 1. How do I register my child for classes?

We run two types of classes, drop-in and pay termly.

The exception to this is Déda’s Youth Performance Companies Bounceback and Youth Dance and Circus Company (1 & 2), both of which entry is by an audition process. Please speak to a member of the Box Office team who will advise you on when the relevant auditions are and how to apply.

Déda requires an enrolment form to be completed for each child that attends a class. Forms can be picked up from the Box Office and returned on completion. If there are any changes in details, please inform us as soon as possible.

  • 2. Do I need experience?

No, we are proud to offer classes that are accessible to those from both a dance and non-dance background. Once enrolled, we ask for a termly commitment so that our tutors have the time to build your technique and ability. Prior to this, you do not need to have any previous experience.

Our Youth Dance and Circus Company and Bounceback are the only companies that require an audition before enrolment. These are open auditions so, although some dance experience may aid your audition, you do not need to have any dance experience beforehand and we welcome everyone, regardless of background or experience, to apply.

Our auditions for these companies happen annually. Please contact Isobel Davis, our Dance Development and Learning Coordinator, for further information at [email protected].

  • 3. Are classes suitable for people with additional needs?

Yes - we want everyone to enjoy dance and all are welcome in our classes. We have a huge range of classes for children from 18 months upwards and people of all abilities. Déda is an accessible building and a copy of our Access Statement is available online giving more details about the building. Please contact Box Office or speak to the class tutor if you have any queries.

  • 4. I can’t attend my class, what shall I do?

We do not offer refunds however, if you let us know at the very latest 24 hours before the start of the class we will be able to credit your ticket to your account.

  • 5. Is there car parking at Déda?

Chapel Street Car park is located directly opposite Déda. This 500-space multi-storey is reasonably priced, with evening parking for just £1.40 (parking charges apply to disabled badge holders)

Please note that there are parking restrictions on the street outside Déda and cars parked on the street may be towed.
