If you would like more information about any of our classes please contact the Box Office. All children’s classes are payable per half term unless indicated as a drop-in class – advanced booking is strongly advised for some of our drop-in classes. All under 18s must complete an enrolment form.

We want you to enjoy your classes safely. If you have an injury or health issue that may affect your participation please let us know.

  • 1. How do I register my child for classes?

We run two types of classes, drop-in and pay termly.

The exception to this is Déda’s Youth Performance Companies Bounceback and Youth Dance and Circus Company (1 & 2), both of which entry is by an audition process. Please speak to a member of the Box Office team who will advise you on when the relevant auditions are and how to apply.

Déda requires an enrolment form to be completed for each child that attends a class. Forms can be picked up from the Box Office and returned on completion. If there are any changes in details, please inform us as soon as possible.

  • 2. Are classes run as courses or drop in sessions?

Both. Most our classes are paid on a drop-in basis, however advanced booking is strongly recommended for popular classes, as they often sell out quickly.

If you attend regularly, book 5 classes in one go and only pay for 4.

Level 1 Pilates and Aerial are run as courses, participants pay a one-off payment to join the course.

  • 3. When can I join?

We offer taster sessions, for non-audition companies, at the start or end of the term (our term dates are on our website at www.deda.uk.com/classes). This allows you to try a class, before payment, to see if it suits you. There is no commitment to enrol once you have attended a taster unless you wish to do so. Pre-booking is required so please call our Box Office on 01332 370911 to book your taster session.

Once you have decided to join, you can do so at any time of the year but, as payments are half-termly, it ideally needs to be at the start of a new half term. If our classes are working toward a performance opportunity, we may ask you to wait until the following term. However, our Box Office will advise you of this when booking so you do not need to worry if this is not the case.

  • 4. What shall I wear?

None of our classes require you to purchase any specialist clothing - the main thing is to be comfortable and wear clothing which you can move in.  Commercial dance is high energy so does require trainers to be worn whilst Yoga and Pilates classes require bare feet. Contemporary is done in bare feet, whilst Ballet classes you can go with just socks or wear ballet shoes.

Please contact the Box Office for further information on individual class guidelines.

  • 5. Do I need to bring any specialist equipment?

No. We provide mats and blocks for Yoga and Pilates classes, but if you would prefer to bring your own please do! You may like to bring a prop along to a class such as Belly Dance – your tutors will advise you.

  • 6. Do you have changing facilities?

Yes. Upstairs we have full changing facilities with lockers and showers. Lockers require a token which can be purchased at front of house for 75p.

  • 7. Will I need to perform?

Our Creative Dance courses include sharing opportunities throughout the year. If you are concerned about performing, please speak with our Box Office or the class tutor so we can adapt to your child’s needs accordingly.

  • 8. Are classes suitable for people with additional needs?

Yes - we want everyone to enjoy dance and all are welcome in our classes. We have a huge range of classes for children from 18 months upwards and people of all abilities. Déda is an accessible building and a copy of our Access Statement is available online giving more details about the building. Please contact Box Office or speak to the class tutor if you have any queries.
