Déda is supporting our community this winter through the Warm Welcome scheme. People are welcome to come into the Déda café and spend time in a warm and friendly space to help save on their heating bills.
We have a children’s play area, an exhibition in the café and around the building, free Wi-Fi, board games, and friendly staff on hand. On Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10am until 6pm, we are also offering free hot and cold drinks and a free meal to those who need it. If you are struggling with heating bills or food bills, we can help you access support with these too.
Connor Wallis, Experiences and Events Manager, said: "The team here at Déda are all really passionate about our local community, and we saw the opportunity to get involved with the Warm Welcome initiative and help those in our city that need it over the winter months. Our local funders have helped us put together a programme of support over the next few months and we’re all here to help if possible. We’re offering free food and drink as well as referrals for vouchers to help with energy bills, we all hope that together we can face this crisis with a sense of solidarity and community."
We are delivering this service with support from some wonderful funders including Community Action Derby, Presentation Design Services, and Amazon, as well as our dedicated staff team. Please come along and see what Déda has to offer you.
There is a lot you can get involved in at Déda, including free family friendly workshops on a Saturday, our free art exhibition, pay what you can events, free events on Chapel Street, volunteer opportunities, and more.
