Derby City Comedy Club

RockCentral Promotions and Déda present Derby City Comedy Club! For 5 years, RockCentral has produced award-nominated comedy shows across the East Midlands. Hosting the night is Derbyshire’s Anthony Williams, with a terrific lineup including award-winning Dawn Bailey, the cheeky Stevie Gray, and headline act Shazia Mirza.
Handful of Nothing

Handful of Nothing combines aerial, contemporary dance, and spoken word in a visually poignant semi-autobiographical piece. Explore reactions to challenge and uncertainty, and the questions of worth and weight. Dive into Tilly's world of limbo.
Tokamak: Energetic Improvised Dance Grooves

Tokamak is a group of 10 musicians performing entirely improvised music using the Sound Painting system. Led by a conductor using a language of 150 hand signs, the performance unfolds live with no prior preparation. Sysmo, a band from Brussels led by Gwenael Dedondere, pioneered this system in Europe. Join us on May 10th at Déda as Gwenael conducts the band in this unique experience.
Take Flight

Take Flight" is an aerial theatre show for 0-2-year-olds and their grown-ups. It tells the story of a mother and baby bird as the baby grows and explores, overcoming challenges and eventually taking flight. The interactive show sparks babies' curiosity and imagination. After the performance, babies can play with the props, including a silk swing. Developed with Dr. Valentina Sclafani, a developmental psychologist, the show promotes positive neurological and motor skills development and strengthens the bond between babies and grown-ups.
Small Island Stories

Small Island Stories 2" is an audiovisual production centering on the narratives of Derby's Windrush migrants and their descendants across generations. Rooted in Hip Hop and spoken word, the production features local artists, offering an eclectic mix inspired by the Windrush movement and Caribbean culture, now integral to British society.
La De Da May Cabaret

Join us for a glamorous night at Ladeda Cabaret! Enjoy a variety show filled with comedy, music, circus acts, and more. Every show offers new and exciting performances, ensuring a unique experience each time. Established in 2014, Ladeda Cabaret has become a prominent name in the UK burlesque scene, featuring top acts handpicked by producer Scarlett Daggers. Strictly for ages 18 and above due to adult humor, strong language, and nudity. Running time is up to 3 hours, including two intervals.
Hayley Ellis: Hayley’s Comic Tour 2024

After the success of her 2022 show "The Invisible Mam" and four sold-out dates at The Frog and Bucket, Hayley Ellis returns with "Hayley's Comic." Packed with silly stories and audience interactions, she covers topics like body confidence, family holidays, and dinosaurs. As tour support for Sarah Millican, Jason Manford, Ellie Taylor, and John Bishop, she's been praised as "brilliantly funny" by Millican and "sharp, clever, and very funny" by The Sunday Post. Nominated for Best Show at Buxton Fringe Festival, she's hailed as "a proper comic" by Manford.
