Join East Midlands Dance Artists Network (EMDAN), Déda, FABRIC and peers for an afternoon that starts with an open class, gathers for networking over food, and finishes with the award-winning show, BIRD by Amina Khayyam.
You are welcome to attend all or parts, but please book each one separately.

3.30pm -5.00pm – Open Contemporary Class with Alice Marshall
Dive into the beauty of movement with Alice Marshall, where a soft and flowing class paves the way for Creative Improv.
Participants will connect through a shared language of dance, exploring unity in spontaneous expression. An uplifting experience where creativity and connection come together in a harmonious dance celebration.

5.15pm – 6.30pm - Networking supper
An opportunity to expand your professional network and connect with Déda, FABRIC & East Midlands Dance Artist Network (EMDAN) over a bowl of hot vegan food. This is an opportunity to network, ask any questions you may have, share ideas, and hear about regional updates and opportunities from across the network.
Both gluten free and vegan options will be available but please feel free to bring your own food if you prefer.

7pm -8pm – Show: BIRD
The Lustrum Award Winner at Edingburgh Fringe 2023, is a stage sequel to AKDC’s critically acclaimed dance film ‘Catch The Bird Who Won’t Fly’ choreographed by Amina Khayyam. Inspired by a workshop with a women's community group, BIRD confronts the social stigma faced by these women, through a high-energy Kathak dance and a specially commissioned live music score by Jonathan Mayer.
