Join Salsa classes that focus on authentic Cuban style Casino dance, taught in a clear, vibrant, accessible and mainly fun way by Akshar Apte! He believes everyone CAN dance and strives to make his classes as inclusive and enjoyable as possible. His goal is to create a community of Casineros and Casineras in Derby and spread his love of Cuban dance and music to you all.
Akshar picked up his dance shoes under the tutelage of some of the best Cuban teachers in the world in Australia and Cuba and hasn't looked back since. He's been teaching Casino (Cuban Salsa) and Rueda de Casino since 2008 and moved to the UK in 2019. He has taught at various festivals in Australia and New Zealand, as well as at many schools internationally.
He's in residence at Deda on Thursday nights and looking forward to welcoming you all.
Please note there is a 15 minute overlap of L1 & L2 classes to facilitate a dance practice between people who are at different levels.
