From w/c 19 April children & young people return for in-person classes (in keeping with government guidelines)
Covid-19 update on Tuesday 30 March: Déda and the CUBE remain temporarily closed to the public. Please read our full statement here.
In line with the Government roadmap, Déda’s building will remain closed to the public with the exception of our Déda | Academy classes, BA (hons) degree course, hires and residencies. We have introduced the following health and safety measures that seek to reduce the risk associated with Covid-19. These are in line with Government advice and the requirements of local health authorities. This includes reduced activity in the building, 2 metre social distancing and the use of face coverings.
Track and Trace
You will be asked to enter your contact details when entering the building. Déda will keep a temporary record of your details for 21 days to assist the NHS Test and Trace with requests for data if needed. This could help contain clusters or outbreaks.
There will be a new digital sign-in process. Simply scan the QR code when entering or alternatively a member of staff will take your details.
CUBE café | bar
Déda's building including the CUBE café | bar will remain closed to the public until no earlier than the 17 May when the government will review the easing of lockdown restrictions.
We will be delivering a blended programme of online adult classes and in-person academy courses (with the exception of Illuminate which will remain online) subject to the Government safety roadmap. Tickets are now onsite, for a full breakdown of the classes we have available please go to: www.deda.uk.com/classes. Please book in advance online via our website. Due to limited capacity, we advise booking early to avoid any disappointment.
We ask that you please do not attend the building if you start to display or experience any COVID-19 symptoms. Before attending an event or activity, please carefully follow any additional guidance sent by our team in advance or as advised by our team on the day.
Remember to keep an eye on our website or social media channels for any further updates and please feel free to email our team with any queries or FAQs prior to your visit.
There will be new signage on display throughout the building with key health and safety information and directions. If you are unsure about what to do, please ask a member of our team.
We ask that you keep a 2m distance from others at all times. Barriers and 2 metre-distanced floor markers will be in place. Our toilets on both levels will be open but please follow the distancing guidance.
We ask that visitors wear a face mask when walking around our building at all times unless you are exempt or under the age of 11.
We support anyone who does not wish or is unable to wear a face covering due to a physical, mental or hidden disability and are proud advocates of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
We have introduced our own limited edition Déda face masks to help keep you safe and help you stand out! The masks cost £5 each with all proceeds going towards our helping children and young people to access the arts. Place your orders at: https://deda.ticketsolve.com/products/regular
Hand sanitiser stations are now situated in key places around the building and should be used frequently. Our team have been busy deep-cleaning the building ready for your return and will continue to follow a rigorous cleaning regime concentrating on busier contact areas.
There will be antibacterial spray and cloths available in our studios for each user to wipe down equipment being used/after use. The studio spaces will be sanitised with a fogger before each new member/group or hire will be allowed to enter.
A perspex screen will also be in place at our box office.
Every studio and space has a new capacity to comply with government guidelines and are assigned their own toilet facilities. The studios will only be available for University of Derby, Déda BA(hons) students for face-to-face education, performing arts professionals for training and rehearsals only and In-Person Academy classes at present.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for future updates.
